Pour utiliser notre service de prise en charge gratuit, appelez la succursale de location Budget directement au numéro de téléphone de la succursale indiqué sur votre confirmation de réservation. Les politiques du service de prise en charge (heures de disponibilité, distance permise, etc.) varient selon la succursale, il est donc important de téléphoner à la succursale pour prendre les dispositions nécessaires au moins 24 heures avant votre heure de prise en charge du véhicule souhaitée. Lorsque vous téléphonez à la succursale, soyez prêt à fournir tous les renseignements nécessaires, dont l’adresse précise, l’heure exacte de la prise en charge et un numéro de téléphone où nous pouvons vous joindre à ce moment-là.
Veuillez noter qu'une succursale Budget hors aéroport ne peut pas aller vous chercher à un aéroport qui a une succursale Budget. Dans ce cas, vous devez louer votre voiture à la succursale de l’aéroport ou utiliser votre propre moyen de transport vers la succursale hors aéroport où vous préférez louer votre véhicule.
Modalités et conditions
Additional Liability Insurance (ALI)
ALI is MANDATORY for customers who decline LDW or PDW. Purchase of ALI provides public liability and property damage protection above the portion not covered by the charge card company.
If the customer has PDW from a third-party Company, at the desk, customer must show the documentation that supports the insurance purchased. The document has to show coverage for the rental vehicle of up to approximately 35,000 in the event of damage or collision.
These coverages for third parties Companies only protect the rental car in the event of a collision, they do not cover damages caused to third parties or to the other occupants of the vehicles. With this insurance type ALI coverage is required to cover third party damages that credit cards or other insurers do not cover.
Optional Coverages
Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental and get written proof of the coverage to be presented at the counter at the time of rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival. NOTE: Written proof should be obtained from the credit card company on official letterhead noting they will specifically extend LDW coverage in Costa Rica.To waive AVIS’s LDW customer must agree on PDW or ALI.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) Purchase relieves customers financial responsibility for damage to or loss of the Avis vehicle as a result of an accident or theft. Theft protection is included in the purchase of LDW. This coverage does not include loss of license plates, accessories, tow service, fines and loss of keys, nor windshield/tires/rims damage. (protection for windshield/tires/rims damage may be purchased at the rental counter).
If LDW/PDW is declined, then Additional Liability Insurance (ALI) will be MANDATORY for all car groups. Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or Partial Damage Waiver (PDW) can only be declined with written proof of collision coverage with credit card. NOTE: Written proof should be obtained from the credit card company on official letterhead noting they will specifically extend LDW coverage in Costa Rica.
PDW is the minimum protection required for the Avis car in Costa Rica. It is MANDATORY, unless the customer is authorized to use credit card coverage. PDW must be obtained at the rental counter.
Additional coverage may be available. Check at the counter upon arrival.
Global insurance coverages are always subject to change. Please verify at time of rental.
Addendum to Rental Agreement for US Residents - At the time of rental all USA residents will be required to sign a separate addendum that acknowledges their responsibilities for care of the car and mandates that, should there be any damage issues upon return to the USA, you may deal with an American based company to handle these issues. This may alleviate the need for international trips or phone calls back to the country of origin.
Credit Card Policies
Avis Costa Rica accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Mastercard, Visa. An additional charge card hold will apply. At the time of rental Costa Rica will request an authorization on your charge card for a minimum hold of 1,000.00 USD or 2,000.00 USD depending on car group rented, plus the estimated amount of rental. Signature class cars have higher authorization and will vary depending on the coverage selected. NOTE: Credit cards without raised numbers are not accepted in Costa Rica.
Debit Card Policies
Debit cards are not accepted.
Drivers License
A valid driver's license from country of residence and passport must be presented in person at the time of rental. An International Driving License is required for countries with a non-Roman alphabet. We reserve the right to check the driver's license against Avis standards and refuse to rent if those standards are violated.
Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability coverage up to approximately 200,000.00 USD is included with the purchase of LDW. Property Damage (as a result of collision) coverage up to approximately 35,000.00 USD is also included. Theft of, damage to parts and accessories are not covered.
Additional protection up to 1,000,000.00 USD for public liability (ALI) as well as windshield, tires, rims and accessories protection can be purchased at the rental counter.
Public liability insurance is with in accordance of the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance at the time of rental.
Age Requirements
At this location the minimum age is 21 for all car groups. Maximum age is 70 for all car groups. An underage fee will apply for drivers 21-23 years of age. Cost: 10.00 USD per day.
Fuel Policy
Travel Into Other Countries
Cars can be returned to other Avis locations within the same cities. One-way rentals are subject to availability and one-way fees may apply. Vehicles are not available for one way rentals outside this country. Cars are not allowed outside of the country.
