Souscription de l'assurance pertes et dommages (APD) - Les locataires sont responsables jusqu'à concurrence de la valeur totale du véhicule en cas d'accident. La souscription à l’assurance responsabilité civile complémentaire réduit la responsabilité à un montant pouvant aller de 4 000 BRL à 10 500 BRL selon la catégorie du véhicule loué.  L'assurance collision sans franchise partielle (ACFP) pour réduire le NWE est offerte à l'achat au moment de la location.

L'assurance individuelle accidents (PAE) - Assurance facultative qui offre de la protection pour le locataire et les passagers jusqu'à concurrence de 5 000 BRL par accident.

L’assurance responsabilité civile complémentaire (ARCC) – Offre une protection additionnelle au locataire en cas de dommages à d’autres biens personnels ou personnes à l’extérieur du véhicule Avis. Comprend 50 000 BRL en assurances pour dommages corporels, 50 000 BRL en assurance pour dommages pour dommages matériels. Le NWE est BRL 1 000. 

La protection contre les dommages au pare-brise (PDP) - Couvre les dommages au pare-brise. Offert à l'achat au moment de la location.

Remarque : La présentation d'un constat de police est obligatoire pour la couverture des pertes et/ou des dommages, dans les 24 heures au plus. Lors d'un accident ou de dommages, le locataire doit également remplir un « constat d'accident ».
L'assurance ne comprend pas les dommages aux pneus, aux roues, aux clés ou aux documents ni les pertes résultant d'une catastrophe naturelle.

Politiques en matière de carte de crédit

Avis accepte généralement les cartes de débit et les cartes de crédit Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club et Avis. Toutefois, certaines succursales peuvent ne pas accepter tous les types de cartes.

Au début de la location, Avis n'accepte pas les cartes prépayées ou les cartes à valeur stockée rechargeable, les cartes de voyage et les cartes EFTPOS. Avis n'accepte pas non plus les cartes présentées sur les téléphones et les montres et ne permet pas les modes de paiement sans contact comme payWave. Une carte de crédit physique ou de débit doit être présentée au début de la location. À la fin de la location, certaines succursales Avis accepteront une carte prépayée ou une carte à valeur stockée rechargeable comme mode de paiement final.

Remarque : Les locations payées au moyen d'une carte de crédit/débit valide seront assujetties à des frais de transaction de 1,29 % (incluant la TPS) au moment de la prise en charge.

Drivers License

A valid driving license from the renter's country of residence must be presented in person at the time of rental. 
Non-residents of Brazil must submit a valid passport or visa from country of residence. 
All foreign renters and additional drivers must also present a valid International Driving Permit (IDP). 
All forms of documentation must be issued to the same person, in the same name, and presented together at the time of rental.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.


Additional Driver Policy

All additional drivers must meet the same minimum age and drivers license requirements as the renter. Renter and additional drivers must be present at the time of rental. Present valid drivers license. Renter and additional driver must sign the additional driver form. Maximum of 4 (four) additional drivers allowed per rental. The additional driver fee is 11.00 BRL per day, per additional driver.

Travel Into Other Countries

Cars can be returned to other Avis locations within the same cities.  One-way rentals are subject to availability and one-way fees may apply.  Vehicles are not available for one way rentals outside this country. Cars are not allowed outside of the country.


Modifying Your Booking

  • You may change your booking (whether a Pay Now or Pay at Location booking) any time before the day you are due to pick-up the vehicle by calling reservations or managing your booking online (if available). We will send you a revised booking confirmation email confirming your new booking details. For Pay Now reservations, the additional amount to be paid will be charged at time of rental pick up.
  • For Pay Now reservations, if you return the vehicle before the original return date (early return), you will not be refunded any portion of your payment. This does not detract from your rights as a consumer under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Modifying or returning your vehicle to a different location, changing the dates or the rental duration, will result in the reservation being recalculated at the new daily rates and any applicable one way fees or other charges may apply.

At the start of your rental, a hold will be placed on your credit/debit card for the total estimated rental charges plus an additional pre-authorisation. You must use an approved payment card that is in your name and has enough funds available.

A pre-authorisation holds an amount of money in your account. Once a pre-authorisation has been held, you will not be able to use that money.

At the end of your rental, the final payment amount will be processed and if applicable, the unused portion of the pre-authorisation will be released. Depending on your bank, the money is usually released within 7-10 working days. Avis will not be held responsible for any overdraft fees.


Privacy

The collection, use, disclosure and retention of your information, including your personal information, provided to us in connection with payment for our services and products, or participation in our programs, whether directly by you or on your behalf through a payment service, is subject our Privacy Notice located on our website or in the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement and the Privacy Act 1988.


Rates and Inclusions

The vehicle rental price is calculated based on your requested start and end dates and times, the rental location(s) and the type of vehicle you request. Unless stated otherwise, the price also includes all costs you must pay, for example, administration fees, GST, Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF) and any location surcharges.

Signature Series

When renting a vehicle from the Signature Series range specific Terms and Conditions apply.

  • Debit cards are not permitted.
  • At the start of your rental, a hold will be placed on your card for the total estimated rental charges plus an additional pre-authorisation of $200 on credit card.
  • Drivers must hold a full valid drivers licence (not being a learners or provisional licence) and be over 25 years of age.
  • Local Renters - The Local Airport Qualification Form must be completed with 2 contact telephone numbers. A second form of identification will be required for your booking. You will be required to provide proof of your current address that matches your current driver¿s licence. An example of the acceptable form of ID is a current utility or phone bill.
  • Interstate one-way rentals are not permitted on Signature Series vehicles.

Restrictions may apply if you intend to take the vehicle outside the local area in which it is being collected. Local driving conditions and restrictions vary between locations, so you must contact the pickup location prior to your rental date for further information. During the ski season, vehicles may not be taken above the snowline (unless advised otherwise). Please contact your selected location for further information.

  • On Highway No. 27: beyond Chillagoe in a westerly direction

  • Beyond Cooktown to the north or Lakeland to the west and no further north than Cape Tribulation on the Coast Rd

  • On a coastal road north of Cape Tribulation, unless the vehicle is a 4WD vehicle

  • On the Bloomfield Track north of Cape Tribulation

IN NEW SOUTH WALES

  • Above the snow line; being Jindabyne, from the beginning of June until the end of September

IN VICTORIA

  • Above the snow line; being Bright, from the beginning of June until the end of September

IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

  • On the Kalumburu Rd, Tanami Rd, Canning Stock Route, Gunbarrel Hwy and Holland Track
