Mandatory 3rd Party / Motor Liability Insurance (MLI) covers injury or death to a third party (persons outside the Avis vehicle), as well as damage to property other than the Avis vehicle and the renters, drivers or passengers property. Details available at the rental counter.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is optional (taxable)
Customer is liable for ARI 750,000 if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. If CDW is not taken, the deposit/charge card hold would be the total estimated rental charges plus: a full tank of gas and refueling charge, the Customer Liability amount of the vehicle, any special equipment, any applicable one way fees and surcharges.  If CDW is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to ARI 500.00, for all car groups. 

Theft Protection (TP) is not available.

Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Cash may be used to settle permitted rental charges at participating locations, but it does not replace the payment card required for identification and pre-authorisation.

The main driver must present an approved payment card in their own name with sufficient available funds. Current accepted card types include Mada, American Express, Visa and Mastercard, subject to card verification and station acceptance. 
Prepaid cards and other restricted card products may not be accepted.
For selected high-value vehicles, two approved payment cards may be required. This will be shown during booking or confirmed by the rental location.

Pre-authorisations, Security Deposits and Excess 

Before releasing the vehicle, Avis will take either a pre-authorisation or a security deposit using an approved payment card in the main driver’s name.

• A pre-authorisation places an amount on hold in the card account. It is not a final charge.
• A security deposit transfers or captures the amount and is later used or refunded when the final rental charges are calculated.
• The amount depends on the vehicle group, rate, estimated rental charges and optional products. It will be shown during booking, in the booking confirmation or confirmed by the rental location before collection.
• The excess is the maximum amount the renter may need to pay for each covered incident, subject to the General Conditions, the selected protection products and any exclusions. It is separate from the pre-authorisation or security deposit.

Avis will process the final rental charges and request release of any remaining hold after return. The payment-card provider controls how long a released pre-authorisation remains visible or unavailable in the account. 

Debit cards are not accepted.

Requirement to bring a valid driving licence with you.

In Saudi Arabia, all drivers must bring their physical valid driving licence with them. The address on the driving licence must be their current address.

• Saudi citizens and residents must present a valid Saudi driving licence and valid national identification or Iqama.
• International visitors must present a valid passport, valid entry visa where required, their original national driving licence and an International Driving Permit where required.
• The name on the driving licence, identification documents, payment card and booking must be consistent. Avis may refuse the rental if the documents cannot be verified or do not meet legal or operational requirements.

Minimum licence requirements 

All drivers must have held their licences for at least 6 months and must present the original licence when collecting the vehicle. 

If a licence does not show the driver has held it for the minimum period, then they must provide evidence, such as: 

• previous driving licences; or
• a letter from their driving licence authority stating that they have held it for this minimum period.

Valid form of identification 

You must present original, valid identification when collecting the vehicle:

• Saudi citizens: valid Saudi National ID.
• Saudi residents: valid Iqama.
• International visitors: valid passport and valid entry visa where required.

The name on the identification document must be consistent with the booking, driving licence and payment card.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

At this location the minimum age to rent is 25 years, no maximum age for all car groups.

Must be returned with a full tank.
