In the unlikely event of an accident, contact the renting location as noted on your rental agreement document, or call Avis Emergency Roadside Assistance at 1-800-354-2847. An accident involving bodily injury must be reported to police department in the community in which it occurred. The driver is required to complete and file an Avis accident report, as well as any accident reports required by local or provincial authorities.

Avis provides 24-hour roadside assistance. The number for roadside assistance in Canada is 1-800-354-2847.

Attached to each set of Avis car keys is a plastic tag with the toll-free number of Avis Roadside Assistance as well as the car number, car description and license plate number. Please have this important information handy if you need to call for assistance.

If you've left a personal item behind, immediately call the same Avis location at which you dropped off your rental vehicle so that their staff can check the vehicle personally. The phone number will be listed on your rental agreement. Or, find your location phone number. We highly recommend that you report your lost item as soon as possible. We'll do our best to find it.

Please remember, however, that we are not responsible for items left behind.

Yes. Any parking tickets, traffic violations or tolls incurred by the renter remain the sole responsibility of the renter.

For renters who have qualified for cash rentals, a cash pre-payment equal to 140% of the estimated charge is required when the vehicle is picked up. For more information, please call Avis Customer Service at 1-800-352-7900.

Avis Roving Rapid Return® is a fast, efficient way to return your rental vehicle without any hassles. When you return your rental vehicle to Avis, you'll be met in the return area by an Avis representative who enters all your return data into the carside computer that prints out a receipt instantly. This service is available during peak periods at most airport locations.

If a vehicle in the reserved vehicle group is not available at time of rental, a higher vehicle group will be substituted at the confirmed rate.

In the Reservations tab at the top of the page, select "Get e-Receipt." Enter the country in which your rental took place and choose how you would like to retrieve your receipt. You may look up past rentals with a combination of your Last Name and Rental Agreement Number, Last Name and Reservation Confirmation Number, or by logging in to your My Avis profile.

For those customers that have registered on avis.ca and have a My Avis profile, just login and click the "Get e-Receipt" link next to the past rental of your choice.

Please contact the renting location and then mail in the keys to the location where you dropped off your rental vehicle. For location details, select "Find a Location". Please remember that you are responsible for the cost of replacing keys, which today can be very substantial.
